We're excited to offer our introduction to coffee course. This course is ideal for anyone who is either new to the coffee industry or the home enthusiast looking to further their knowledge and skills.
The course has been designed as a perfect introduction to coffee and is run in small groups. This will give you plenty of opportunity for hands on experience and practice during your time behind the bar.
During the training you will learn about coffee theory and get the chance to practice your barista skills. This is a hands-on introduction giving you experience of
- Grinder calibration
- Espresso extraction
- Milk steaming
- How to make a range of speciality coffee drinks
- How to maintain and clean the equipment
- A few handy tips so you can replicate the best practices at home

Frequently Asked Questions:
Will I be able to do latte art after this class? - You will be shown the basics however latte art does require a considerable amount of practice. We will teach you the technique to pour a heart, rosetta and tulip. Grasping the heart shape will be our focus and aim in the introductory course.
How many lessons do I need to get a good understanding of standard coffee and skills? We will give you an understanding of the basics how to make a cup of coffee. We can faciliate more advanced training SCA Barista Foundation (7 hour course)
Do you do latte art or intermediate classes? Yes these can be arranged depending on your requirement. We have instructors able to teach advanced level coffee however these will need to be booked individually.
I have opened up my own coffee place and need help training my staff, can you help? Yes we offer a bespoke consultancy service tailored to your individual needs
Will I be job ready after your introductory course? This is an introdcutory course which will give you the basics. We recommend for applying for junior cafe positions to give you work experience. We can't guarantee you a job
Is your course accredited? No, this is a non-accredited course. However our lead instructor is an AST (Accredited Speciality Coffee Trainer) so upon request we can work towards SCA qualifications at all levels
